Why kids do jiu-jitsu
  • Confidence - Kids learn they can stay calm, solve problems, and handle challenges

  • Focus - Games, drills, and partner work help build listening skills and body awareness and control

  • Discipline - Students practice respect, patience, consistency, and effort

  • Self-defense - Jiu-jitsu teaches kids how to control distance, escape bad positions, and protect themselves without striking

Is this good for beginners?
  • Brand new? Perfect.

  • Most kids start with no experience. We keep the first class simple, safe, and welcoming. Your child can participate at their own pace, and our coaches will help them understand what to do.

  • Your child does not need to be athletic, aggressive, or already confident. We help them build those skills step by step.

  • Our classes are great for kids who are shy, wild, struggle with focusing, nervous, uncomfortable with rough play, or have never done martial arts or sports.

Our Approach
  • In our kids classes, ages 4-10, we focus on games and fun.  All games are designed to improve balance, coordination, and focus, which will all translate to jiu jitsu.  We teach basic BJJ positions and concepts.

  • In our teens classes, ages 11-15, there’s more of a balance between games and pure jiu jitsu techniques, drills, and sparring.  Students will learn more advanced positions, techniques, and sequences.
